What’s Over Voltage Protection (OVP)? What kind of lamp will need to have OVP?

OVP is usually designed on lamps with high value or lamps must pass Over Voltage tests by customer’s request. OVP circuitry is to protect the PCB from over voltage and surge voltage. ISO-7637-2, ISO-16750-2 & JASO-D001-94 are the main regulations to follow.
